The Big Horn Brass

Ding Dong Merrily On High

Ding Dong Merrily On High

The signs of the Holiday Season are everywhere, but there is no greater sign in the Northwest than the arrival of the annual “Big Horn Brass Christmas Show.”

For the third straight year, three of The Vancouver Symphony’s greatest brass players join up with one of the area’s best-known big bands – Big Horn Brass.

The “Big Horn Brass Christmas Show” with soloist Karla Harris will play a benefit for The Vancouver Symphony Orchestra on Saturday, December 17. David Bryan conducts.

Engaging listeners with vibrant vocals that range from quiet vulnerability to soul-tinged power, jazz vocalist Karla Harris brings nuance, refreshing lyricism, and a compelling stage presence to music audiences across North America. Karla performs as a featured artist at clubs, resorts, conventions, concert halls and festivals. Her musical repertoire is a vast tapestry of standards that cross musical eras and genres.

Karla Harris

The Big Horn Brass was founded in 1983 by Andrew Harris. Members of the group come from local symphonies and brass bands. The group performs a wide variety of music including classical, romantic, renaissance, ragtime, marches, patriotic and movie music throughout the area, but it is best known for their wonderful Christmas show.
