Boyd Osgood, Bassoon
Boyd is a retired engineer and physicist. He has played bassoon for more than fifty years, starting to play classical orchestral music with the Portland Junior Symphony (now the Portland Youth Philharmonic). Boyd has played music all of his life, mostly in chamber groups and community orchestras. After retirement he has devoted himself to music, taking music theory courses at Portland State and learning new instruments. He plays bassoon, contrabassoon, and recorders. He also has an interest in folk music of the world. He has played gajda (Bulgarian bagpipe) and Kaval (Bulgarian flute). |
