Dr. Ed Sale, Bass

Ed has been with The Vancouver Symphony since 1978 playing bass.
He's seen many changes over that time, but the love of music and the efforts of many people over that time, along with the blessing of Salvador's ongoing committment to the VSO have resulted in a very satisfying experience.  The growth and improvement of the VSO has been a wonderful thing to participate in.

He started playing bass in the fifth grade, as his mother found she could rent and not have to buy a half-sized bass.  (She had to purchase instruments for his older siblilngs.) Music was a valued outlet for him through college, and medical school, residency through today.

Dr. Sale is retired from 30 years as a family doctor with Family Physicians Group in

Vancouver, and am practicing part time in Southwest Washington Hospitals Wound Care and Hyperbaric Clinic.
Other interests have included skiiing, sailing.   I am married to Susie, with two grown children.

Now I am involved in fly fishing, fly-tying, fly rod building, and a jazz  trio, JEM, which includes Michael Liu on piano (member of VSO).  I play with the Southwest Washington Wind Symphony, and occasionally with other local groups.

When not playing music she loves with the people she loves, Margaret can be found in the great outdoors, gardening or camping and hiking with family and friends!
