Elaine Hesselman, Harp Elaine Hesselman received her early music training in Los Angeles. Her teachers were studio harpists Aida Muliere Dagort, Dorothy Remsen and Catherine Gotthoffer. She received orchestral training under Peter Merenblum and was a member of his Los Angeles Junior Orchestra. She attended the University of Southern California on a four year harp scholarship. She was the harpist with the Pasadena, San Jose, Monterey and Santa Cruz Symphony Orchestras during her years in California. She also toured with the popular Ray Coniff Orchestrta and soloed at the Hollywood Bowl.
Elaine received her Master’s degree in harp performance at California Institute of the Arts. She has been harpist with the Portland Opera, Oregon Symphony, Chamber Music Northwest, Rose City Chamber Orchestra and the Oregon Coast and Sunriver Music festivals. She has also performed with Oregon Repertory Singers, Portland Symphonic Choir, Choral Arts Ensemble, Novum Chamber Singers, Portland Girlchoir, Vox Angelis and PSU Women’s Choirs.
Elaine teaches at her home studio and is on the adjunct faculty at Lewis and Clark College.
