Our next performances are:

May 17th & 18th, 2008
Saturday @ 3PM and Sunday @ 7PM

Our final concert brings together two works of very different characters by Richard Strauss and Sergei Rachmaninoff –close contemporaries, and two of the most important composers of their day. Strauss’s Four Last Songs are sometimes dark, intensely personal works written by an aging and deeply sad man. Singing these moving works is soprano Charlotte Pistor. Rachmaninoff’s second symphony is a youthful work, sprawling Romantic symphony that contains a vast range of moods—ultimately bringing our season to high-spirited conclusion.
