One of Northwest’s favorite sopranos – Christina Kowalski – will headline VSO Chamber Music Series’ thrilling season finale. In what will be a long-awaited return to Vancouver, Ms. Kowalski will perform some of audience’s most favorite and familiar masterworks. Joined by pianist Dr. Michael Liu, the program will include famous arias and duets by Mozart, Rossini, Offenbach, Delibes, and Lehar, as well as works by Tomasi and Barah. This will be Ms. Kowalski’s third appearance with VSO Chamber Music Series. The renowned soprano dazzled the audience in her critically acclaimed debut with the Vancouver Symphony Orchestra and Maestro Brotons in January 2014.
Kiggins Theatre offers a unique concert environment that is intimate and informal, with a fully staffed concession stand offering beer, wine, soft drinks, popcorn and candy.
Grand piano is generously provided by Michelle’s Piano Company in Portland.
Now in its seventh season, the series was co-created by Dr. Michael C. Liu, the VSO pianist and board member, and Dr. Igor Shakhman, VSO Executive Director and Principal Clarinet, to present great musicians playing in a very intimate setting. The content of each concert is unique, and most of the participating musicians are members of The Vancouver Symphony.
