Dr. Igor Shakhman serves as Chief Executive Officer of the Vancouver Symphony Orchestra USA. He also serves as the orchestra's Principal Clarinetist.

Working closely with the Board of Directors, civic leaders, business partners, and philanthropists, Shakhman has helped lead the orchestra through a period of sustained artistic, organizational, and financial growth. During his tenure, the VSO has expanded its concert offerings, educational initiatives, and community impact. He co-founded the Vancouver USA Arts & Music Festival in partnership with the City of Vancouver and the VSO Chamber Music Series, helping establish the orchestra as one of the Pacific Northwest's leading cultural organizations.

As a clarinetist, Shakhman has performed as a symphony orchestra musician, soloist, and chamber musician throughout North America and Europe.

Shakhman earned his Bachelor of Music degree from Kharkov Music College, his Master of Music degree from the Moscow Conservatory, and his Doctor of Musical Arts degree from the University of Colorado.
